Here’s something fun. Just plug in your website and it creates this fun little type illustration using text from your website. Here’s our WORDLE.
“Hey, remember when you used to have a blog?” -Emily Lewis
My apologies to you multitudes of faithful readers faithful few. <insert excuse of choice (class is busy, I write too much elsewhere, I’ve just been reading my Bible so much, curing cancer, ending poverty, started watching Friday Night Lights on dvd, etc.) here.> I have a test in 4 hours, and right now is a good example of “times I shouldn’t be blogging.”
BUT, y’all.
There is a man in the library wearing a ghostbusters shirt vacuuming shelves of books with a backpack vacuum. So basically, he looks like this.

Minus the suit + ghostbusters tee. This is Ralph Brown Draughon Library, ladies and gentlemen.

things that are not normal:
1. When you haven’t seen the sunshine in 7+ days and you walk out of class expecting more clouds and you don’t, and you have to wipe a tear from your cheek.
2. Waking up at 3:00 a.m. thinking its time to start the day (even though its TOTALLY dark), going into the kitchen and starting to pour a bowl of cereal.
3. this engagement ring.
things that happened to me today:
1. When I got out of class and saw it was sunny, I was, literally, SO excited that I laughed out loud and shed a few tears. Really just one. But it was big that it fell out of my eye socket and rolled down my cheek just like in the movies. Unfortunately, the pep in my step carried me to the library. Where I am now blogging. I have a test and a paper to be working on. What am I doing?
2. I woke up at 3:00 a.m. to myself pouring a bowl of cereal. Whenever this happens (when I say whenever I mean the two times it’s happened), I always end up in the kitchen. The last time, I put a waffle in the toaster before I realized my mistake. Clearly, my body is telling me I need more food. I am telling my body that it doesn’t. Body is winning 2-0. On a similar note, lest we forget, remember when this happened?
3. I found a horrible engagement ring. I’m not looking for engagement rings, people. Get off my back. But my friends might be… imjustsayin.

Tell me your friends threw you a better 22nd birthday, and I will tell you you are wrong.

(photo cred. to Brooke Glassford)
There were shrimp and grits, a lemon pound cake, two puppies, firefly and lemonade, giant tissue paper flowers hanging from the ceiling, and lots of dancing to an obscenely catchy song that I am scared to put on the internet under my name, but will sing to you if you ask me in real life. Who loves all those things? <thumbs>. This girl. It was the kind of night you lie in bed thinking about for hours, so I slept embarrassingly late for a new 22-year-old.
The night goes down in the books just under September 28, 2001. My first kiss. At a Destiny’s Child concert. During Amazing Grace. Sung a cappella. I was so classy in 8th grade. The lemon pound cake was good, but not as good as double mint gum in a 14 year old boy’s mouth.
Nonetheless, the birthday was smashing, and I can’t believe so many spectacular, kind, loving people all decided to be friends with me. It’s like when you walk into Anthropologie, and you think to yourself ’how do they find so many beautiful things and get them all in one place?’ That’s my friends, and they cook. It’s totally not fair for the rest of the world, but they probably didn’t have their first kisses at Destiny’s Child concerts. You win some, you lose some.
So my birthday has come and gone, and we all know what that means. Fall. The most wonderful time of the year. I even got offered a pumpkin spice latte sample at Panera last Thursday. If that doesn’t mean fall is coming, I just don’t know what does.

since i normally fall asleep during movies, I’m not a big movie buff or anything. however, there are three movies coming out that I am simply dying to see. ah!
after the midnight showing of HP last night, plus these three gems, i’m going have to live off of pb&j so that i can invest in seeing all these movies. 9.50 a ticket. seriously?

love: the color melon. On my finger and toe nails, on my shoes, and on my walls (if my tasteful roommate/faithful blogger/meagan will give way to her less tasteful color-explosion lover of a girl).
loathe: that those perfectly-melon colored tennis kicks were out in my size.
life is: all about the people. amen?
{surprised to see that it’s me, holly? i am back, friends!}
